Chocolate Maker History

Phulmattie Maharajh-Peters embarked on her chocolate-making journey on her family's cocoa farm in Central Trinidad, where her parents introduced her to traditional cocoa production methods. Following her marriage, Phulmattie, alongside her husband, launched their own venture at the Leroy Peters Estate in Grande Riviere. Their dedication to quality has been recognized with the prestigious International Cocoa Award at the Salon du Chocolat, awarded for the exceptional beans grown on their farm. Phulmattie is a strong advocate for cocoa producers transforming their beans into chocolate or other cocoa products. She believes this practice not only provides additional income but also fosters a deeper appreciation and understanding of their product's flavor. She emphasizes the importance of continuously redefining and improving oneself as a chocolate maker. Through collaborations with both governmental and non-governmental organizations, Phulmattie continually optimizes her methods to ensure exceptional quality. Her diverse product line includes 70% Dark Chocolate, sweetened and unsweetened Cocoa Powder, Cocoa Balls and Blocks for Cocoa Tea, and Milk Chocolate Bars. Phulmattie’s chocolates celebrate a rich heritage and meticulous craftsmanship. Stay connected by following her social media pages to keep up with her expanding product line.
