Chocolate Maker History

Our chocolate is from the Lopinot cocoa community, so we have criollo, forastero and because a hybrid we have Trinitaro over 95 % dark chocolate because of continuous training by CRC and cocoa development company.

Lopinot Tourism Association Ltd was founded in 2014, rooted in more than five decades of generational heritage tied to the historic Count de Lopinot Estate and the cocoa-farming traditions of the Lopinot–La Pastora community. Building on a legacy of estate stewardship, craftsmanship, music, and agriculture, the Association champions cocoa as the cultural and economic backbone of the village.

Through partnerships with national development organisations and specialist training, the Association established the Lopinot Chocolate Company, producing premium Trinitario-based products including dark chocolate, cocoa powder, cocoa balls, cocoa butter, nibs, and cocoa wines. Today, cocoa is sourced from 12 local farmers, with community members trained and certified as chocolate makers, creating livelihoods anchored in skills, pride, and independence.

Complementing production, Pure Lopinot Tours – Life in Lopinot offers immersive heritage, cocoa, and cultural experiences that connect visitors to the village’s history, landscapes, and flavours. Lopinot chocolates have been featured locally and internationally—including official commissions and global online retail—carrying the story and taste of Lopinot to the world.
