Brief History
La Carlota Estate was cultivated in the early 1900s. In 1960, the estate was acquired by Kairi Chocolate Deosaran Jagroo’s parents Harry and Sunmat Jagroo. They maintained the traditions and best practices which they imparted to us. La Carlota Estate partners with other cocoa farmers in the Tamana region by providing a ready market and post-harvest facilities for their beans. In addition, La Carlota Estate facilitates training programs and field demonstrations, in an effort to improve and increase farmers’ bean production.
Flavour Profile
Mixture of floral herbal and woodsy notes with raisin type browned fruit notes with a combination of fresh fruit notes. Spice notes and a hint of sweetness with a robust basal cocoa flavour. Low acidity, robust cocoa flavour and moderate bitterness and astringency.
